Dr. Irina Smirnova lives in the Barrhaven community with her husband, two daughters, and a son. She has been part of the community for over 10 years. Dr. Irina attended New York University Dental School in the United States. After graduating in 2007, she completed a residency program at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn NY. She moved with her family to Ottawa and enjoys everything Ottawa has to offer. Ottawa has the perfect balance of city life and suburbia.
One of her long-time hobbies is figure skating, which she began when she was five years old. Ottawa, having the longest skating rink in the world, is another reason she loves this city.
When it comes to practicing dentistry, she loves working with patients of all ages, especially children. One thing you will hear Dr. Irina say is: “I look forward to meeting new patients as well as their families. I think it is important for my work to get to know the families I treat. My passion for dentistry drives me to give my patients the very best care”. Dr. Irina says “I always believe in giving back to the community and I want to take excellent care of the bright smiles in Barrhaven.”
Dr. Tony Liu
Dentist
Born and raised in Ottawa, Dr. Tony Jin Jun Liu graduated from McGill University with a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree in 2022. Inspired by his time as a student shadow at the Ottawa Mission dental clinic, Dr. Liu has been involved with several programs, including the McGill Outreach Program and St. Mary’s Home for Single Mothers and Children, to provide quality dental care and education for vulnerable populations.
His belief in providing fair and informative dental care for all folks drives his ambitions in the field of dental and oral health. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Liu enjoys staying active with a myriad of sports – badminton, basketball, and volleyball. Volunteering as a facilitator, he organizes and assists in managing recreational badminton leagues in the Ottawa area.

With a kind-hearted approach, she ensures every individual receives personalized attention and compassionate treatment. Lora Teran

Lora has worked in many different of areas of dental, starting in Oral Surgery as an Assistant and transitioning into administration and management.
She took a break from her career to raise her kids during their pre-school years and run a home daycare and now she has found a happy home at Barrhaven Bright Smile Dental.
She is a lover of books, music, history and animals.
Angelina De Grazia
Certified Dental Assistant
Born and raised in Ottawa, Angelina is a 2017 graduate from Algonquin College Dental Assistant program. She loves working with children and putting a smile on there face. She also enjoys assisting the doctors with there many dental procedures. Angelina had an interest in the dental field since she was 14 years old when she got braces and was at the dental office on a regular basis. When Angelina was in high school she completed grade 11 and 12 co-ops at a dental office. In her free time, she loves going on long nighttime drives with her friends and brothers and getting ice coffee. She likes going out for nice dinners, going to concerts, and shopping.
Kaitlyn Yardon

Kaitlyn was born in Kingston and moved to Ottawa in 2004. She graduated from Algonquin College, specializing in dental assisting. Kaitlyn enjoys nature hikes, reading and spending time with the family. She cares about helping others and loves to see patients’ smiles healthy.

Kimberly grew up in Kingston, Ontario, moving to Ottawa to attend Algonquin College for Dental Hygiene. She graduated in 2014 and has enjoyed laying roots in Ottawa with her husband. Kim’s passions for oral health and hygiene persist in her love to help people achieve their best smiles. She enjoys spending time with her growing family and dog when she’s not in the office.
Marissa Hall

Marissa grew up in Nova Scotia and moved to Ottawa to attend the Canadian National Institute of Health for Dental Hygiene. She graduated in 2020 and has enjoyed laying roots in Ottawa. Marissa is very dedicated to oral health and hygiene. She enjoys letting every patient’s smile shine brighter and healthier.
Alessandra Rocha
Dental Hygienist
Alessandra has been dedicated to the dental field for over a decade, building her career through hard work, passion, and a genuine commitment to patient care. She began as a Level II Dental Assistant, where she gained extensive experience working alongside Dr. Smirnova and her team. During this time, she developed a strong foundation in clinical procedures, laboratory work, and administrative coordination, allowing her to understand all aspects of a dental practice.
Driven by her passion for oral health and patient education, Alessandra pursued her goal of becoming a Dental Hygienist in 2020. She graduated with honours and has since found true fulfillment in helping patients achieve and maintain healthy, confident smiles. She takes pride in creating a comfortable environment and empowering her patients with the knowledge they need to care for their oral health.
Outside of the office, Alessandra enjoys travelling the world, exploring new restaurants, and spending quality time with her family.
Melissa Dawn
Administrator, Manager
Melissa graduated from Career Canada College with Dental Assisting in 1998 and brings her vast knowledge of dentistry to the front desk in order to better assist our patients with their variety of questions. With her many years of experience in the operatories and reception, Melissa brings calmness and confidence to our office atmosphere and is a significant team member. Melissa enjoys being busy raising her three active children.
